Children’s Support Worker – Wisbech & Yaxley Locations
Pay Rates: £12.50 – £17.00 per hour
Full-time | Part-time | Bank | Days | Nights | Sleep-ins
Are you a caring, confident, and resilient support worker with experience supporting children and young people with complex needs and challenging behaviours?
gap healthcare is recruiting Children’s Support Workers to work across four specialist services – two in Wisbech and two in Yaxley. These services support young people with a range of emotional and behavioural needs, requiring consistent, calm, and reliable staff who can provide a safe and structured environment.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Supporting children and young people with emotional, behavioural, and social difficulties
- Building positive relationships based on trust, clear communication, and consistency
- Promoting independence and encouraging development of life skills
- Assisting with routines including cooking, cleaning, and personal care where required
- Supporting children in accessing the community and taking part in hobbies or activities
- Helping to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours in a calm and professional manner
- Following care plans and updating records as needed
What We’re Looking For:
- Minimum 6 months' experience working with children or young people
- Ability to manage challenging behaviour in a calm and supportive way
- A caring, consistent, and confident approach
- Willingness to work flexibly and adapt to the needs of the young people
- Overseas Police Check (if you have lived outside the UK for 6 months or more in the last 5 years)
- Basic IT skills
