gap healthcare is currently recruiting on behalf of our client based in Norwich for a dedicated Support Worker. This role involves supporting an individual with challenging behaviour and speech dysphasia. The position is part-time, 11 hours per week, typically between 10:30 AM and 4:00 PM, Tuesday & Fridays, with the potential for additional hours. you will be expected to take the service out to access community so you will be required to have a clean driving licence.
Role Overview:
As a Support Worker, your primary responsibility will be to create a safe and supportive environment for the individual you are assisting. You will provide personalised support, helping them to overcome challenges and reach their full potential. Your role is crucial in fostering their independence and enhancing their quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:.
- Establish a safe connection
- Maintain clear and effective communication.
- Stay composed during challenging situations
- Act in any emergency situation and apply to established protocol
- Provide direct care and support to individuals, including assistance with daily living activities and sporting activities
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, their families, and other healthcare professional
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- Driver with access to car for work
- Experience in a care or support role
- A caring and empathetic nature, with a genuine desire to support others
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations
- Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Additional qualifications or certifications required, e.g., NVQ in Health and Social Care, First Aid certification, etc
