Job description

Gap Healthcare is recruiting for a compassionate and experienced Service Manager on behalf of our client to lead a Supported Living Service for individuals with learning disabilities and complex needs. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional to make a real difference in the lives of those we support.

Salary - £28,000 - £33,000 per annum

Full time position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Person-Centered Support: Collaborate closely with supported individuals and their families to empower them in decision-making around their lives and personal needs.
  • Operational Leadership: Manage all operational aspects of the home, including staff supervision, rota management, care planning, quality assurance, training, budgeting, financial oversight, and medication management.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all care and support align with organizational policies and sector regulations, regularly monitoring activities to uphold quality standards.
  • Team Culture: Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment that encourages best practices and team development, ensuring high standards of care.
  • Professional Representation: Serve as a professional representative of the organization in all internal and external interactions.
 

Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Service Manager working with individuals with learning disabilities, Autism, or complex needs. We also welcome applications from experienced Deputy Managers looking to advance.
  • Qualifications: NVQ Level 5 in Health and Social Care or other relevant professional qualifications (e.g., Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Social Work).
  • Best Practice Knowledge: Strong understanding of positive behaviour support approaches and best practices for managing challenging behaviours.
  • Flexibility: Willing to work on a flexible rota to meet the needs of the service, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
