Gap healthcare is recruiting on behalf of one of our clients for a children’s Registered Home Manager based in Tern Hill. 

Job Description: Registered Home Manager

Purpose of the Role: The Home Manager is responsible for ensuring the coordination and effective operations of the Home are maintained to a high standard. This role ensures that all duties undertaken by reporting staff meet required standards and contribute positively to providing a happy, efficient, and homely atmosphere.

Location: Tern Hill (TF9)


Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure each young person is assessed for need and has a formally developed Care Plan with the involvement of the young person, their family/relatives, or an advocate as required.
  • Develop and regularly review individual Care Plans in consultation with the Responsible Authority's Social Worker and Senior Care Staff.
  • Ensure all reporting staff perform duties to required standards and contribute positively to the Home's atmosphere.
  • Provide adequate staff cover for all shifts in line with Care Standards requirements and assist in duty rota preparation.
  • Assist in the selection, screening, and recruitment of staff.
  • Participate in staff training aligned with documented Training Plans.
  • Assist in staff performance assessments and the implementation of disciplinary procedures.
  • Supervise catering operations to meet Food Hygiene standards and plan menus accommodating special dietary needs.
  • Ensure adequate transportation arrangements for young people.
  • Participate in developing social activities for children.
  • Maintain the Home's cleanliness, heating, and maintenance per Responsible Authority and Environmental Health standards.
  • Lead staff meetings and ensure meeting minutes are communicated to all staff.
  • Generate notifications for accidents involving young people, staff, or visitors in line with R.I.D.D.O.R. regulations.
  • Stay updated on legislation related to Health & Safety, C.O.S.H.H., and Fire Prevention and communicate updates to staff.
  • Ensure the smooth operation of the Home's Quality Management System and achieve relevant Quality Certification standards.

  • Understanding of H&S, C.O.S.H.H., and Fire regulations
  • Familiarity with employment and equal opportunities legislation
