gap healthcare is currently recruiting for a new and exciting opportunity on behalf of our clients based in King Lynn for an experienced Registered Manager for children’s registered service
Job Title: Registered Manager
Responsible to: Head of Disability Services
Responsible for: All Children’s Home staff
Salary - £42,119 - £45,250, depending on skills and experience. Maximum job rate is £48,978, performance related.
Job Purpose:
- Leadership and Management: Provide leadership and management to deliver positive outcomes for children and young people across all areas of their development. Manage the home holistically, using all resources to create a positive, inclusive environment in which children and young people thrive.
- Therapeutic Services: Lead and manage two solo therapeutic services by creating an environment that fosters positive, safe, healing relationships.
- Team Building: Build and lead a team of trauma-informed practitioners who meet the needs of young people experiencing multiple placement breakdowns.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Values Implementation: Embody values, which include listening, respecting individuals, working inclusively, doing the right thing, making a difference, being optimistic, inspiring, and creating hope.
- Care Standards: Ensure staff deliver positive, sensitive care in line with values, legislation, policies, and procedures as outlined in the Statement of Purpose.
- Professional Standards: Oversee childcare practices and maintain high professional standards within available resources.
- Holistic Care: Manage a home that meets the physical, emotional, identity, cultural, religious, and educational needs of children in accordance with their care plans.
- Regulatory Compliance: Work effectively with Ofsted and within regulations to deliver the highest standard of care.
- Identity Development: Lead a team that encourages children and young people to develop a positive sense of self and individual identity.
- Risk Management: Evaluate and manage risk to protect young people from harm, provide a safe environment, and teach risk competence.
- Behaviour Management: Encourage positive behaviour and manage challenging behaviour in line with legislative and organisational policies.
- Professional Networks: Build support networks with professionals, including police, social workers, mental health workers, educationalists, commissioners, and LA decision-makers.
- Children’s Rights: Deliver services within a children’s rights framework, promoting their right to participate in decisions affecting their lives and the running of their home.
- Crisis Support: Work with professionals to support placements during crises.
- Safeguarding: Provide management oversight and support during safeguarding incidents, responding with clear action plans.
Managing People:
- Recruitment and Induction: Manage the recruitment, selection, and induction of staff in line with safer recruitment procedures.
- Staff Support: Provide advice, guidance, reflective supervision, and annual appraisals as per policy.
- Training and Development: Identify and review the training needs of staff.
- Performance Management: Manage performance-related issues as required, in accordance with policy.
- Professional Development: Take responsibility for own learning and development through participation in meetings, supervision, and training.
- Health and Safety: Promote and enforce Health and Safety policies, maintaining safe practices for self and others.
- Collaboration: Work with other services to ensure staff have the right resources, skills, and knowledge to work effectively with young people.
Managing Quality:
- Compliance: Ensure all statutory requirements are met and the service remains compliant with current practice, guidance, research, and legislation.
- Performance Review: Review the home’s performance and create an Annual Development Plan with the Head of Service.
- Public Image: Promote a positive public image of and maintain good community relations.
- Complaints and Compliments: Ensure young people are aware of and have access to the Complaints and Compliments process, responding to complaints per policies.
