Are you an experienced and knowledgeable learning disabilities and/or mental health service manager with a passion for service and quality enhancement currently looking for your next role in the Shropshire region?

If that sounds like you, I am currently recruiting on the behalf of my well-established client who provide support throughout the region to service users with learning disabilities, autism and those with mental health needs through their multiple supported living projects.

The successful candidate will work across the county to improve the service quality, implement new legislations and drive continual improvement within the service providers supported living projects in the area, working with the registered managers and operations team you will play an essential role in ensuring the service users receive the best care possible and all members of the care and support team are knowledgeable and effective in their daily duties.

My client is a registered charity and strives to promote the service users’ independence through their person-centred approach, supporting their service users to live the independent life they choose.

Overview

• Salary – £28,000 to £30,000
• Hours of Work – Full Time Permanent Position
• Shifts – 37.5hrs per week
• Area – Shropshire

Responsibilities

• Working with the regions registered managers and support teams to improve the service and quality of care being provided.
• Mentoring and training all levels of the care and support team.
• Supporting managers to resolve any issues they are having within their service or concerns they have.
• Remaining up to date with any new legislations, best practices and industry news in order to update the care team and provide training on them.
• Working with the registered managers to implement a continual improvement mindset, always striving for improvement in the support being provided.
• On occasion you may need to cover absences / assume management of a home when the registered manager is on leave or leaves the business in the interim.
• Enabling staff to provide the highest standards of care and support possible, through continual training.
• Working with the team, to advance their knowledge and support them in their professional growth and career advancement.
• Always working within my client’s mission, to provide support to the service users to live the independent life they choose.

Skills

• Hold an RMA Level 4 / NVQ Level 5 in Health and Social Care Management.
• Due to travel requirements, it is essential you hold a full UK driver’s license and have access to a car.
• Strong backing of previous learning disabilities and/or mental health supported living / residential management.
• Secure understanding of current CQC regulations, with policy implementation experience.
• Experience liaising with local governing authorities and bidding for placements.
• Highly detail orientated.
• Excellent team working and mentoring skills.
