Do you want to make a difference daily supporting adults in living as independently as possible? We’re looking for Female Support Workers to support adults with emotional, behavioural, and learning difficulties. This service is located in Trentham, Staffordshire.
My client is well established, and their services are managed to an exceptional standard providing support for adults with learning disabilities. As a part of the team, you will need to maintain the high standards that are embedded in their values whilst supporting the service user in getting the care required for their needs.
- Salary - £11 per hour / £22,308 per annum
- Hours – 39 hours a week
- Area – Trentham, Staffordshire
- Permanent position
Responsibilities
- For positive relationships with service users and provide an environment in which they feel safe from harm.
- Support service users gain self-control by rewarding positive behaviours and challenging unacceptable behaviour.
- Ensuring each care plan is followed and amended as required to reflect their changing needs.
- Assisting service users with personal care, cooking and cleaning
- Meeting the physical, emotional, and cultural needs of the service users
- Providing a positive role model able to offer advice, guidance, and assistance where appropriate.
Skills Required
- Willingness to learn and gain an understanding of emotional, behavioural, and learning difficulties.
- Caring personality and nature
- Positive attitude and passion to help others.
- Willingness to provide 1:1 and 2:1 support.
- Flexibility with shift patterns and availability to cover nights.
- Experience of working with individuals who display challenging behaviours.
- Basic IT and computer skills

- To develop and maintain support plans.
- To oversee training needs of the teams.

Skills required – Team Coordinator Learning Disabilities
- You will need to have previous experience as a Senior Support Worker or Team Leader or a similar senior role within the care industry.
- Experience of supporting service users with Learning Disabilities.
- This role requires a minimum of an NVQ/Diploma Level 3 in Health & Social Care.
- The position requires the candidate to be computer literate, good numeracy and literacy skills, with strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Full driving licence and access to a vehicle.
- Flexibility regarding working hours to participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota.
- Commutable distance from Swadlincote, Derbyshire.
