Children’s Residential Support Worker (Night’s)

Are you a compassionate and motivated Residential Support Worker, currently looking for a new role to support service users with severe, profound and multiple learning disabilities in the Meldreth, Cambridgeshire area on night shifts?

If that sounds like you, I am currently recruiting on the behalf of an established and innovative nationally based care and support provider who are seeking to expand their driven team within the residential service they operate in the Meldreth area supporting children with learning disabilities.

Overview:

  • Salary – £20,883 to £23,150.40 (Depending on Experience) £25 Night Shift Supplement (Per Shift)
  • Hours of Work – Full Time or Part Time Permanent Position
  • Shifts – 40 Hours Per Week / Night Shifts
  • Area – Meldreth, South Cambridgeshire

 

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating and working with all levels of the support staff team, to always protect and safeguard the service users.
  • Participating in a range of fun and exciting recreational events both held within the home and the wider local community.
  • Assisting with tasks related to the care service you will be providing such as cooking, cleaning and more.
  • Establishing constructive and energetic relationships with the service users; ensuring they are always treated with the upmost respect and dignity.
  • Altering your approach to guarantee that you meet the physical, emotional, and cultural needs of the service users you will be supporting.
  • Continually maintaining clear, accurate and up to date records of the service users you will be working with.
  • Provide a supportive environment for the service users to meet their full potential.

 

Skills:

  • The most vital skills for a residential support worker, is someone that is compassionate, caring, empathetic and a team player.
  • If you hold your any NVQ’s or care related qualification such as a care certificate these will benefit your application however are not a requirement.
  • Flexibility is a must; no two days are the same and you must be able think on our feet and adjust your approach as you go.
  • Basic IT skills are essential, you will be working on computers everyday so basic knowledge of Microsoft and the windows system is crucial.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and team working skills are a must.
