Look no further as a great opportunity has just become available! gap are currently on the lookout for passionate and motivated Head of Care to support learning and development in a residential setting for looked after children located near to Beccles, Suffolk.
As a Head of Care, you will support young person’s and act a mentor whilst helping deliver life skills and personal development. You will also share the general leadership of the establishment and make a major contribution to the development and policy making.
- Salary – Between £36,298 - £45,495
- Hours – 40 hours per week Monday to Friday
- Area – Near to Beccles, Suffolk.
- Full time permanent position
Responsibilities – Head of Care looked After Children
- Leading by example and providing inspiration and motivation for others in order to create a shared culture and positive climate
- Supporting the training, monitoring, assessment and development of support staff
- Supporting the Registered Manager in delivering effective systems for the management of staff performance and professional development as part of the Staff Support and Development Programme
- Motivating and empowering all staff to carry out their roles to the highest standard.
- Maintaining appropriate structures to support leadership at all levels, ensuring clear delegation of tasks and responsibilities.
- Contributing to development planning, review and self-evaluation processes.
- Maintaining a positive climate which ensures high quality care and successful learning.
- Support and mentor Deputy Care Managers in their role
- Making sure the values and ethos are embedded within the service and delivered on a daily basis.
Skills Required – Head of Care Looked After Children
- Enthusiasm
- Minimum of a level 3 in Children and young person’s residential, also willing to work towards level 5 in management within Children and Young person’s
- Imagination
- An understanding of the management aspects of a senior role in a residential children’s home setting.
- Successful experience with children displaying social, emotional and behavioural.
- An awareness of the requirements of working in a residential care setting that is the child’s home.
- Competent and well versed in supporting development and growth of staff and young person’s.
- An understanding of the issues around dealing with children displaying social, emotional and behavioural problems
- A commutable distance from Beccles, Suffolk
