Do you want to make a difference daily supporting residents in their day-to-day lives? We’re looking for a motivated Activities Coordinator to deliver nutritious food and market leading care to residents, whilst keeping the residents and their families at the heart of everything you do. This service is located in Flitwick, Bedfordshire.
My client is well established, with services that are managed to exceptional standards providing residential, nursing and dementia care. As the Activities Coordinator, you will need to develop engaging and creative activities for the residents to enjoy, whilst maintaining the high standards that are embedded throughout their values and service delivery.
- Salary – £24,466 per annum
- Hours – 40 hours per week
- Area – Flitwick, Bedfordshire
- Permanent position
Responsibilities
- Develop and oversee an active living programme for each resident, which supports their mobility, social contact, independence and quality of life.
- To provide a caring, supportive and nurturing environment in which residents can feel secure and free from harm.
- Ensuring that each resident’s care plan is followed and amended as appropriate to reflect their changing needs.
- Collaborating with the nursing and senior staff to assess strengths and capabilities of each resident in regard to activities of daily living.
- Ensuring that any risk assessments have been carried out prior to any new planned activity or event.
- Devising simple and safe activities which encourage movement and maintain joint flexibility and functional use of hands and fingers in activities.
Skills Required
- Previous experience as an activities coordinator and experience developing engaging activities programmes is required for this role.
- Previous experience working within an adult care home is essential.
- Caring personality and nature
- Positive attitude and passion to help others.
- Flexibility with shift patterns
- Basic IT and computer skills
- A commutable distance from Flitwick, Bedfordshire.
