Senior Speech and Language Therapist

A great and exciting opportunity has just come available for a Senior Speech and Language Therapist band 6 based in Chingford and Waltham Abbey, Essex. You will be travelling around the services delivering specialised client centred speech and language therapy.
My client is well established and has achieved a good rating from the CQC and is looking for a Senior Speech and Language Therapist band 6 to oversee the service and to further improve and maintain the high standards that are embedded throughout their values and service delivery.
Salary - £35,000 - £40,000 depending on experience
Hours - Monday - Friday 0900 - 1700 but will need to travel to different services all within a local area. 40 hours per week.
Area - Located near to Chingford, Waltham Abbey and High Wycombe(once a week).
Position - Permanent position
Responsibilities - Senior Speech and Language Therapist
Assess, treat and manage service users with communication and swallowing difficulties
Manage a caseload of service users with varying diagnosis and complex needs, using evidence based client centred principles.
Ensure development of junior staff through supervision, training and contribution to annual appraisal.
Participate in the planning, development and evaluation of clinical practice and service development within the area of Learning disabilities.
Contribute to maintenance and development of the SLT service.
Participate in information management to ensure high quality data which is recorded, evaluated & reported in a timely manner.
To support with the dysphagia caseload and train staff to raise awareness of dysphagia management in Learning Disabilities.
Skills required - Senior Speech and Language Therapist
A minimum of 2 years SLT clinical experience with adult population.
Evidence of commitment to ongoing professional development.
Ability to reflect and develop own practice.
Ability to contribute towards the training of other staff/students.
Must be a commutable distance from Chingford and Waltham Abbey, Essex.
Willingness to train in TMA.
Recognised Speech and Language Therapy Degree Qualification or equivalent.
HCPC Registration - licence to practice.
Registered member of RCSLT.
